All British citizens living abroad are now eligible to register to vote in UK general elections, regardless of how long they have been living outside the UK.
But, should you? Ex-pat Brit, Professor David Newman OBE, holds the research chair in Geopolitics in the Department of Politics and Government at Ben Gurion University. Professor Newman will compare the UK and the Israeli electoral systems, their respective strengths and weaknesses, and how the different systems are impacted by citizens who are resident abroad nevertheless voting in their home countries. Helen Fry will talk about her new book, “Women in Intelligence”, published a few months ago. The book narrates the extraordinary role women played in intelligence during World War II, way beyond the conventions of that period.
Robyn Hoffman will talk to us about the wonderful food rescue organisation, Leket. A donation will be made to Leket.
The AGM will be followed by Soup and Baked Potatoes and a few short comedy script readings!
