Rehovot talk by Jill Shames on her 6 days as a volunteer with United Hatzalah in Moldova @ on Zoom

For 6 days in March Jill Shames put her training as a social worker and trauma counsellor to use helping children and women in Moldova and across the border in Ukraine.  Jill will share her experiences as a volunteer with United Hatzalah. All proceeds from this event will be donated to United Hatzalah’s Ukraine campaign.

A guided tour of The Testimony House at Nir Galim in English.The Testimony House, established in 1949 and located in Moshav Nir Galim, presents the Holocaust and the post-Holocaust revival. It is the unique realization of the burning passion of a group of Holocaust survivors to share their first-hand experiences with future generations.
Nir Galim’s Holocaust survivors actively participate in and guide The Testimony House’s museum, archive, educational center and diverse programs.

Maurice Cohen has been actively involved in the European Jewish Congress and the World Jewish Congress. In 2013 he was responsible for the Irish Jewish Gathering, which coincided with the national Irish Gathering. This involved Irish Jews from all over the world returning to Ireland for the week and taking part in over 40 events that the Council organised. In 2017 he was responsible for the World Jewish Conference holding their 3rd Conference of Community Professionals in Dublin. The President of Ireland hosted participants at his residence on both occasions. Maurice has spoken to AIPAC, and hosted President Herzog on his visit to Dublin in 2019. During COVID he was responsible for nightly Zoom meetings with guests from Ireland and around the world including the Irish Prime Minister and President Herzog.

Rehovot Branch Tour of Ariel Sharon Park

A two-hour English guided tour of the park in daylight, twilight and after nightfall.  Suitable for all ages.

The park is one of the largest and most successful environmental and rehabilitation projects in the world. The tour includes a multimedia presentation, “The Story of a Mountain”.
