Photographs printed on small cards were arranged in beautifully bound albums, showcasing the owners’ identity and social world, of women and of men.
These portraits, gifted and exchanged, functioned as social media, and the many narratives in these conversation pieces reveal little-known information about Jewish life and culture.
If you would like to bring your own 19th century photographs, Michele will be happy to discuss them after her talk.
Attendance is free but please inform Ellie Morris if you are coming.
If you wish to join via zoom please contact Steve Morris sdmorris@gmail.com or by Whatsapp: 054-7228879
The AGM is open to all, but only fully paid-up members can vote.
